YEAR
ANNIVERSARY

In 2011, Quasset was launched to provide smart solutions for asset integrity management.

Through these last 10 years we’ve grown and evolved, but our fundamental drive to help companies generate direct value has remained unchanged. At the heart of our journey is our commitment to positive impact.

Positive impact
in asset integrity

Driving Innovation

Managing the assets we rely on each day is a complex challenge. Whether it be aging infrastructure or the transition to renewable energy, companies need to make decisions that generate direct value and impact. We drive positive impact in asset integrity management through innovation, delivering what is needed for safe, cost-efficient, and reliable processes.

We provide companies with new approaches to digital technology, implementing the latest and newest trends to deliver bespoke and scalable solutions for our clients.
Our test facilities in the Netherlands and the United States test and validate robotic solutions, providing a vital bridge between lab environments and real-world applications.

Contributing to
positive societal impact

Making a positive impact in our society has never been more urgent. Our planet is facing massive economic, social and environmental challenges, and to meet these challenges, we are – in collaboration with partners, co-workers, and clients – taking decided steps towards a more sustainable future. One way is through our alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set by the United Nations. Many of our SDG goals are in line with innovation and the industries we serve.

Our planet is arguably our most precious asset. As companies are under pressure to improve their energy efficiency, we help implement proactive and holistic asset management strategies, specializing in workflow management systems, mixed reality and risk modelling of infrastructure (above & below ground).
Our Q-Pro solution has been successfully implemented in utilities, namely for water, wastewater, gas, and city heating, increasing efficiency, up-time, and overall business processes. In a cross-collaboration between the Philippines and the Netherlands, we recently gave a series of masterclass on GIS (Geographical Information System), a unique opportunity for all water districts in the Philippines to improve their operational performance through capacity building and technical upskilling.

Valuing our partnerships

Building networks

Industry collaboration and partnerships are essential factors as we help accelerate innovation in asset integrity management. We have built a global network of local expertise and partnering organizations to help guide our clients towards a sustainable, safe and reliable future of asset integrity. Quasset is an employee-owned company and we strive to create a positive impact for all of our stakeholders: our clients, partners, suppliers and employees.

Our innovation portfolio includes managing many global and regional joint industry initiatives, including the groundbreaking PETROBOT project, which laid the foundation for the SPRINT Robotics Collaborative. SPRINT Robotics has grown into an internationally recognized platform for Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) Robotics with a support base of nearly 100 organizations around the globe. We continue to support SPRINT Robotics as central coordinator and are proud to be a part of an organization in which positive impact overwhelmingly resounds.
Currently Quasset is part of PILOTING, a European Horizon 2020 project that focuses on the use of robotic technologies to increase efficiency and quality of inspection and maintenance of aging infrastructures, namely refineries, bridges and viaducts, and tunnels.

Positive impact for our team

Promoting our values

Between our four offices, we have 10 different nationalities and speak 8 foreign languages. Varying cultural influences and perspectives are valuable assets, fueling innovation and our drive to accelerate. Our openness makes us attuned to each other’s skills, embracing diversity and equality within our team.

One team resonates throughout our office culture. We believe everyone should be seen, heard, valued, and granted an equal chance. We allow room for ambition and opportunity for personal and professional growth. We have an excitement for the journey we are on, the courage to take innovation further, and the confidence and know-how to make it happen.

We’ve taken on few projects and challenges to promote our company values.  One is the TechRelief Directory, is a free, open resource we created to help with the fight against COVID-19. This initiative collects technologies from around the globe so that people, organizations and policymakers find relevant information fast.

Another team contribution was designing and developing the website for #DiversityChallengeNOW, in celebration of Dutch Diversity Day in the Netherlands on October 5th, 2021. We teamed up with Rotary Club Hilversum International to bring attention to the importance of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI).

Ten pivotal moments in 10 years

Q-Pro

Over the course of the last decade, Q-Pro has proven to be effective solution for many utilities, namely for water, wastewater, gas, and city heating. Q-Pro is fully modular, customizable to a company’s needs. Whether it be to optimize workflows or to provide a dynamic analysis of emerging risks, Q-Pro enables companies to make decisions that generate direct value.

PETROBOT project

PETROBOT was the first major EU-funded consortium project for Quasset. The collaboration brought together the petrochemical and robotics industries, aiming to develop a series of robots to conduct remote inspection of pressure vessels and storage tanks. When the project commenced in 2013, no one could have guessed that it would lead to the creation of the SPRINT Robotics Collaborative, now the largest global not-for-profit organization for I&M robotics.

AssetBuilder

AssetBuilder transformed the way technology can be used to create 3D models of large physical assets. In 2019, AssetBuilder landed Quasset on the Chamber of Commerce Top 100 Most Innovative Companies in the Netherlands list. With AssetBuilder, creating a digital twin of assets such as pressure vessels or piping has never been easier or faster. As organizations are optimizing processes, the ability to access digital twins on location reduces risk, saves time and is highly cost-efficient. CUI Robotic Inspection Development Program

Launched in 2019, Quasset managed and executed the CUI Program, a four-year initiative on behalf of several major oil & gas companies. The CUI Program was a three-staged, multidisciplinary project aimed at delivering inspection for CUI at a significantly lower cost by leveraging innovative robotic platforms in combination with NDT. In each phase, Quasset joined forces with different industry partners, from end users to technology suppliers and service providers.

QPH, QSG, QUS

In 2019-20, Quasset saw the launch of three new global offices: the Philippines, United States and Singapore. Quasset first expanded to Asia, opening an office in Manila to streamline Quasset’s operations and development of various software tooling. The office in the US is based in Houston, Texas and has now expanded to become the Quasset Innovation Hub; the Singapore office supports a portfolio of activities in the Asia-Pacific region.

Team Meeting 2019

With the expansion of so many new offices, we gathered the entire Quasset team together for our first-ever global team meeting. “One team” was the focus of our three intensive days together, which included a trip to the Oleum refinery in Dunkirk, France, team building activities, communication and culture workshops, and product and services presentations. We eagerly are looking forward to our next global meeting – and we’re counting on 2022!

HoloGrid launch

Mixed reality is transforming the way inspections are carried out, delivering remarkable cost savings by optimizing operations. In 2020 we launched HoloGrid, a mixed reality solution to project a 3D grid on piping elbows. Empowering workers with digital tooling boosts productivity and enhances on-site safety. With HoloGrid, the augmented technician can quickly visualize, convey and interact with 3D data. Would you like to learn more? Request a demo to experience HoloGrid yourself.

Integrating digital twins and workflows

NIIMax is a joint development of ESR Technology and Quasset, bringing together in-depth NII process knowledge and applications experience with industry-leading expertise in digital twins for NDT and software development. The NIIMax solution leverages single asset digital, as a 3D model is used throughout the workflow. The software guides users through the assessment, planning, inspection enactment and evaluation phases, managing information and data across each project phase.

Driving innovation: QTF & QIH

The Quasset Test Facility (QTF) in the Netherlands opened its doors in 2018, providing a place to safely test and validate novel solutions. Robotic and other new technologies can be tested on real-world assets in a safe environment. At the end of 2020, Quasset Innovation Hub (QIH) in Houston, Texas opened its doors. QIH is a central place where companies can co-locate, collaborate and utilize a test facility with real-world assets. For companies who are driving the industry forward, QIH provides a fully-inclusive solution to develop disruptive field-ready robotic solutions at the heart of the digital transformation of critical infrastructure.
